Manipur: Refugees forced to take shelter in cemeteries, Youth Congress national president shares video

The condition of displaced persons in strife-torn Manipur has seemingly reached such a state that they are now being forced to take shelter at cemeteries.

Indian Youth Congress national president Srinivas BV, who is touring the refugee camps in Manipur housing the displaced persons, shared a video on social media platform X, where he showed visuals of persons being forced to take shelter at cemeteries in Kuki-dominated areas.

People who are finding it hard to find shelter among the refugee camps, which are already quite crowded, are now being forced to seek shelter at nearby cemeteries as a last resort.

Sharing a video message, Srinivas BV said that eight months have passed by since the violence broke out, but with no solution in sight, people are continuing to suffer.

"The government should get involved in the matter and try to find a solution. It has been over eight months, and more than 40,000 people are living in these relief camps. How long will they live here? I talked to several children. hey said they want to go to their homes, their schools, they want to play with their friends. I cannot express the pain one feels when you see them in front of you," said Srinivas BV in the video message.
