The DGP has also recommended the incident be referred to CBI as it is also a sequel to the video of the women being paraded naked.
Earlier Manipur DGP Rajiv Singh stated that they are trying to verify the authenticity of the video, even though the video looks like 4 months old.
According to reports his bones and remains were collected and buried.
Meanwhile, the government has made no confirmation on the incident, although Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh has denied the claims made by tribal groups.
On the other hand, a Kuki-Zo representative said they were attempting to determine the identity of the victim since five or six persons from the community were alleged to have been burnt alive during the violence.
