Manipur will compete in 21 out of the 34 events scheduled for the upcoming 38th National Games 2025, which will take place from January 28 to February 14 in Uttarakhand.

In a press conference held today at the Manipur Olympic Association (MOA) conference hall, M. Rachandra Singh, the Chef-de-Mission for the Manipur contingent, shared that the state will participate in several disciplines, including archery, boxing, athletics, cycling, kayaking, football, gymnastics, hockey, taekwondo, weightlifting, wrestling, judo, and rowing.

The games will be held across 11 venues, and Manipur's team will compete in seven of them. The contingent will comprise 436 members, including athletes, coaches, officials from the Manipur Olympic Association (MOA), and media personnel.

Singh also appealed to the state government for the timely release of necessary funds. He highlighted that the MOA has submitted a budget of Rs 2.8 crore for the upcoming National Games, covering the expenses of the Manipur team. With only a few days remaining before the event, he urged the government to release the funds promptly to ensure proper preparation.

"The state government has the responsibility to cover the expenses for the teams participating in the National Games. As the event approaches, we request the state government to release the budget at the earliest," he stated.

Singh also called for support from the people of Manipur, encouraging them to back the participants to help them perform at their best and bring honor to the state.
