Students from the Manipur University Students’ Union (MUSU) and the Jiribam Students’ Forum staged a massive protest at the Manipur University gate, condemning the recent brutal killings of three women and three children in Jiribam's Borobekra sub-division by suspected armed militants.
The agitated students expressed their outrage by burning effigies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh, and Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya, accusing them of failing to protect innocent lives amidst the ongoing unrest in Manipur.
Chanting slogans demanding justice, the protesters decried the gruesome incident that had shocked the state.

The protestors demanded immediate action from both the state and central governments to bring the perpetrators to justice. They also called for heightened security measures to ensure the safety of civilians in conflict-affected areas.
The killings in Borobekra, which involved the abduction and murder of six innocent civilians, have escalated tensions in the region, already fraught with ethnic strife.
Protesters emphasized that justice for the victims is critical to restoring faith in governance and ensuring peace in the state.
MUSU and the Jiribam Students’ Forum vowed to continue their protests until their demands are addressed.
