The committee in a memorandum to the chief minister N Biren Singh urged the government to permit formation of Meitei-Pangal village protection force in all Meitei-Pangal inhabited areas of Manipur with immediate effect. The committee has demanded the state government Rs 10 lakh ex-gratia per victim killed in the incident and Rs 2 lakh per injured victim. In addition, the JAC also urged the state government to provide suitable government jobs to the kin of the victims who had been killed in the incident.
The Joint Action Committee (JAC) has specified in the memorandum that the government of Manipur must meet the demands within 48 hours. In the event of non-compliance, the relatives and the JAC will refrain from claiming the dead bodies.
