Manipur: Womenfolk request Prime Minister Modi to end current crisis in state

Expressing deep concern about ongoing crisis of Manipur, womenfolk of the Meitei community urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to end the conflict as it is soon going to be 10 months.

Addressing media during a press conference held at the the Manipur Press Club today, co-convenor of Khwairamband Ima Keithel Joint Coordinating Commitee, Huirem Binodini said that the conflict is going to complete 10 months, but it is still continuing as many people are still dying. 

She further said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi despite being leader of the nation and not intervening in the crisis is very unfortunate. Binodini further said that as citizens of India, they would like to request to the PM to end the current conflict through amicable solutions. 

She said that many women have become widows due to this conflict. It was also stated that how many more people will die and how many more women will become widows is questionable now because of continuation of the violence. 

Binodini further said that people of Manipur bring laurels for the country through sports. However, Prime Minister Modi not taking the crisis seriously is very unfortunate, she added.

She urged Prime Minister Modi to intervene in solving the 10 months old Manipur crisis.
