N. Biren Singh praises progress of Manipur's Economic Revival Program aiding displaced residents

Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh has expressed satisfaction with the progress of the state's Economic Revival Program, which aims to support individuals displaced by recent conflicts in the region.

The programme, launched in response to the ethnic violence that erupted in Manipur in May 2023, focuses on providing assistance to those living in relief camps across the state. According to CM Singh's recent tweet, the initiative is gaining momentum in its efforts to help displaced persons find income sources and achieve self-sufficiency.

Key components of the program include:

1. Training and skill development courses
2. Provision of necessary equipment and materials
3. Support for launching small businesses

The Economic Revival Program addresses the urgent need to rehabilitate thousands of people who were forced to flee their homes due to the unrest. Official figures indicate that over 60,000 people were displaced during the peak of the violence.

This initiative comes as part of the state government's broader efforts to restore normalcy and rebuild the economy in conflict-affected areas.
