NIA likely to take over Manipur drone bombing probe as top cop confirms foreign link

In response to the drone bombing incidents in Manipur, Inspector General of Police (Operations) I.K. Muivah has confirmed the involvement of foreign elements. The Manipur Police are likely to hand over the investigation to the National Investigation Agency (NIA) for an in-depth examination.

Muivah reported, “We are gathering various pieces of evidence, including drone fragments recovered from the scene. These have been sent to the forensic lab to analyze the chemicals used in the bombs.” He stressed the high priority of the case, describing it as extremely serious.

Forensic teams are  analyzing the evidence, including the bombing sites and remaining fragments. “Given the gravity of the situation, it is likely that we will transfer the investigation to the NIA. This step is essential to ensure that the case is investigated at the highest level,” Muivah added.
