Rahul Gandhi stops by at roadside hotel in Manipur's Kangpokpi during Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra

A roadside hotel in Manipur's Kangpokpi gained sudden popularity after the Rahul Gandhi led Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra reached Kangpokpi District Headquarters today.

The senior Congress leader, Rahul Gandhi, who led the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, stopped over for a cup of tea at Kim Chow Hotel, a roadside small hotel in Kangpokpi town when the yatra reached the town.

Kim Chow Hotel is a small hotel on a roadside in Kangpokpi town run by three sisters along with their mother for their livelihood. The hotel is popular for its indigenous chow, tea, and other eatables.

The senior Congress leader and others from his team had tea and snacks at the Kim Chow Hotel.

The Kim Chow Hotel now has gained popularity after Rahul Gandhi's visit as many people in the town have thronged the hotel after Rahul left the town for Senapati.

Kim said, "I never thought Rahul Sir would make a stop over at my hotel to have tea, I am so happy and excited to serve him".

She continued that there are many good hotels in the town but when Gandhi came to her hotel, she felt so blessed to have him there.

Kim's younger sister said that when Rahul Gandhi's bus stopped in front of their hotel, he asked from inside the bus whether we have tea or not, and in excitement, she just nodded her head, and to her surprise, he came to their hotel and had tea and snacks.

"I was so happy and excited that he even called me to sit near him and started interacting with me, inquiring about our small hotel and our wellbeing", Kim's sister added.

"I told Rahul Sir that the hotel is run by the sisters in our family and it serves as our main livelihood, to which Rahul Sir appreciated us for our hard work which meant a lot to us," she added.

Kim's mother said, "I am happy to see Rahul personally for the first time after seeing him only in the news and on television".

"I am also a little bit nervous as one of the most admired and popular leaders in the country stepped into our hotel despite many good hotels in the town. I felt so blessed to serve him and in return, I blessed him for a healthy and successful life", said Kim's mother.

Kim said that as she considers the visit of Rahul Gandhi to their hotel as a huge blessing. She also said that they might consider changing their hotel's name to Rahul Hotel, while showing the cup that Rahul Gandhi had tea in the hotel.
