Shillong Municipal Board (SMB) has been asked to restart inventory survey in Punjabi Lane by the High Level Committee (HLC) constituted by the State government to resolve the impasse in June this year.
HLC Chairman Prestone Tynsong told reporters that the government was concerned about SMB workers residing in the area for years on end.
SMB had carried out a survey earlier, but most of the houses then were found locked. Board’s 128 workers are currently residing in the colony.
