DoNER minister meets Meghalaya CM, launches NERACE app for northeast farmers

Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia held extensive discussions with Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma to chart a developmental path for the state on July 12, emphasizing areas of strategic advantage and competence. The meeting, held in Shillong, aimed to outline a clear roadmap for progress under the leadership of Chief Minister Sangma.

"We had a very long and thorough discussion on the path forward that Meghalaya intends to take under the able stewardship and leadership of the Chief Minister. It has been most importantly, a very educative meeting where we have very clearly outlined in many ways the areas of all competence and comparative advantage of Meghalaya. The chief minister and his government's path of progress and development for the state..." Scindia stated.

During the visit, Scindia also launched the NERACE App, designed to integrate farmers and sellers onto a unified digital platform. This initiative aims to connect farmers from the Northeastern region with global markets, thereby enhancing their income opportunities.

Scindia expressed his deep-rooted ties and commitment to the Northeast. "I have old and strong ties with the region after I arrived in Guwahati as the DoNER (Development of North Eastern Region) Minister for the first time," Scindia remarked.
