Home Minister Amit Shah announced that the Modi government is committed to advancing the development of the northeastern region through the strategic implementation of the mantras - "Act East, Act Fast, and Act First."
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), underlining the Northeast's importance as an integral part of India, has consistently prioritized the region. Home Minister Shah stated its significance, pointing out that the northeast holds more land area than Uttar Pradesh, indicating the vast potential for growth and progress.
During the tenure of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, distinct priorities were established for the northeastern states, leading to the establishment of a dedicated Northeast Ministry. Building upon this foundation, the present government, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has adopted a proactive approach by instating the three guiding principles of "Act East, Act Fast, and Act First."
Shah highlighted that under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, all ministries have been directed to accord precedence and swiftness to projects and initiatives in the northeast.
