Mizoram Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati handed over the official appointment letter to Zoram People's Movement leader Lalduhoma as the new chief minister of state on December 6.

ZPM chief Lalduhoma, following a landslide victory in Mizoram, is poised to replace Zoramthanga as the next chief minister.
He indicated that the state's youth had grown tired of the existing Mizo National Front (MNF) and were eager for a regime change bringing new ideas and principles. Lalduhoma expressed gratitude for the win, attributing it to the blessings of God and the people. He mentioned that the public had chosen him as their leader the previous year, and that his appointment as CM was anticipated. The new government, he said, would focus on numerous issues across its 45 departments.
Lalduhoma plans to hold a press conference post the swearing-in ceremony to announce the government's top priorities. ZPM celebrated their victory with a special worship service on Tuesday. Baryl Vanneihsangi, a newly elected ZPM MLA, who was present at the service, dedicated her win to the women of her community.
