Nagaland: Villagers seek revenge in Mon district, women smash boar’s head in ritual

The women of Kenjenshu village conducted a ritualistic act of smashing a wild boar’s head in revenge for the lives lost in boar attacks. This act was seen as a necessary step to bring closure and honor the memory of the deceased villagers, P. Angba and S. Aknyu, who were fatally injured by the boar.

Two villagers from Tobu area of Mon district lost their lives following separate wild boar attacks. The victims, identified as P. Angba (42) and S. Aknyu (60), the latter being the village headman, were fatally injured in the incidents.

The villagers organized a hunt to track down and kill the wild boar responsible for the deaths. Upon successfully capturing the animal, the villagers brought it back to Kenjenshu, where a ritual was performed.
