A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawan has died after he “accidentally” shot himself outside Reliance Industries Limited Chairman and Managing Director Mukesh Ambani’s residence.
The 30-year-old CRPF jawan was posted outside Ambani’s residence in Antilia on Peddar Road at the time when he reportedly misfired his service weapon.

The jawan, identified as Devdan Bakotra, sustained one bullet on his chest, causing his death. Bakotra was posted at the secondary gate used by the staff of the residence. According to police personnel, the jawan had a mobile phone in one hand and he simultaneously tried to remove the strap of the rifle. He lost balance and accidentally pressed the rifle’s trigger firing two rounds, said reports.
