As the 'Men in Blue' get ready to resume their battle with the 'black caps' New Zealand, 'desi' fans of cricket have another thing to look forward to! Indian cricket fans will be stoked to know food and beverage giants Pepsi have signed up 87-year-old 'superfan' Charulata Patel as a 'swag star' in a latest ad campaign.
The octogenarian with 'swag' appears in a latest Pepsi ad. The ad, which shows the old woman in her full swaggy avatar, has also been uploaded by Pepsi India on its official Twitter handle along side the words: "Celebrating the swag of the Indian cricket fan #HarFanMeinSwag #HarGhoontMeinSwag"
Charulata Patel first went viral for blowing a 'vuvuzela' in the stands during India's World Cup encounter with Bangladesh. Later, Indian skipper Virat Kohli and 'hitman' Rohit Sharma caught up with the fan. She has since said that she considers the members of the Indian cricket team to be her children.
Indian sipper Kolhi has been especially enamoured of the 'superfan' and had tweeted after the match: "Also would like to thank all our fans for all the love & support & especially Charulata Patel ji. She's 87 and probably one of the most passionate & dedicated fans I've ever seen. Age is just a number, passion takes you leaps & bounds. With her blessings, on to the next one."
The skipper has also arranged tickets for Patel to watch the remaining matches to be played by the 'Men in Blue' as they look to capture their third World Cup crown.
