10 dead, 33 injured after bus carrying pilgrims plunge into gorge in J&K's Reasi, terror attack suspected

A bus transporting pilgrims to the Shiv Khori temple faced a devastating tragedy on Sunday when it plunged into a deep gorge in the Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir. The incident transpired after suspected terrorists opened fire on the bus, causing it to veer off the road. The attack occurred in Teryath village within the Poni area, as reported by news agency PTI. 

The District Collector, Vishesh Mahajan, confirmed to news agency ANI that 10 people lost their lives in the horrific accident. 

Authorities promptly initiated a rescue operation, deploying reinforcements from the police, army, and paramilitary forces to the scene. 

Further details regarding the incident are still awaited as the investigation continues.
