Agra Police arrest two men accused of raping Assam woman

The Agra Police have arrested two men on charges of allegedly raping a 20-year-old woman from Assam's Dhemaji district. The crime occurred when the victim was on her way to visit her brother in Kerala.

According to the police, the victim was travelling from Delhi to Kerala by train. Due to a delay in her Kerala-bound train, she was waiting at the Delhi railway station when she was approached by 25-year-old Manoj Gaikwad, a resident of Pune.

Manoj allegedly befriended the victim and persuaded her to board an Agra-bound train with him. Upon reaching Agra, the accused brought the woman to Kiraoli and took her to the residence of his accomplice, Kanha.

The police report states that Manoj first raped the victim at Kanha's house. The next night, Kanha also allegedly raped the woman.

The victim's medical examination has been completed, and her statement will be recorded before the court. The Agra Police have assured that the necessary legal actions will be taken against the accused.

"We have arrested the two men and are investigating the matter thoroughly," said Agra Police.
