Assam CM challenges Hemant Soren over Congress leader's entry, alleges 'selective' hospitality

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has challenged Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren to push back Congress leader Ghulam Ahmad Mir from the state. 

Sarma's comments come amid a political tussle involving the entry of political leaders into Jharkhand.

Addressing the issue, Sarma expressed his disappointment, stating that it is unfortunate that, according to the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), Ghulam Ahmad Mir is allowed to enter Jharkhand while he is not. 

He questioned whether such hospitality is reserved only for a particular community.

On the controversy over Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren's age, Assam CM & BJP co-in-charge for Jharkhand Assembly elections Himanta Biswa Sarma said, "The entire system of JMM is fake. If you look at the details of their property in the affidavit, their age has also increased... This is a government of infiltrators. If the state government comes to power again, no one will be safe... It is the responsibility of the people of Jharkhand to remove them from power... No action is being taken against Irfan Ansari who made derogatory statements about the people of the tribal community..."

Earlier on October 31, Assam Chief Minister and BJP's co-in-charge for the Jharkhand polls, Himanta Biswa Sarma, visited Jamtara to persuade veteran party member Satyanand Jha to withdraw his independent nomination for the upcoming Jharkhand assembly elections.

"This time it is very important for the BJP to form the government; it is important for Jharkhand," Sharma said.

Jha filed as an independent candidate after being denied a BJP ticket, creating potential vote-splitting concerns for the party. "We could give a ticket to only one person from the party, we could not give a ticket to him, so Jha ji got angry and announced to contest the election as an independent candidate. He also filed his nomination," Sarma said.

Sarma revealed that the party has offered Jha a significant position in either the state or central government as compensation.
