'Do you see tears in my eyes?' Mahua Moitra snaps at reporter, walks away

The Parliament Ethics Committee meeting took an unexpected turn on November 2 when Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) MP Danish Ali walked out, alleging inappropriate questioning. The heated exchange between Moitra and the committee was captured on video, further intensifying the 'cash for query' allegations against her.

In a dramatic moment, a video surfaced of Mahua Moitra expressing her frustration during the meeting. She faced accusations of bribery from BJP MP Nishikant Dubey, who claimed that she received funds from businessman Darshan Hiranandani to target the Adani Group.

Congress MP N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, who was present at the meeting, stated, "We deemed the queries from the Lok Sabha Ethics Committee chairperson to Mahua Moitra as lacking in dignity and ethical standards." This remark underscored the contentious nature of the questioning faced by Moitra.

Moitra, known for her fiery speeches in Parliament, openly criticized the panel as she left the meeting, saying, "Do you see tears in my eyes?" This statement reflected the intensity of the exchange and hinted at her frustration with the proceedings.

The 'cash for query' scandal has been a source of political controversy, with Moitra vehemently denying the allegations against her. The controversy was triggered by Nishikant Dubey's letter to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, alleging that Moitra received financial incentives to target the Adani Group.
