Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Sushmita Dev strongly defended West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s upcoming UK visit, where she has been invited to deliver a speech at Oxford University.
Speaking on the matter, Dev said, "West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee has been invited to deliver a speech at Oxford University as she has implemented very good schemes for social empowerment." She criticized the BJP for questioning Banerjee’s achievements and accused the party of harboring an anti-women mindset.
Taking a direct dig at the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), she said, "The 'Sanghi' thinking of the BJP is against women. Have you ever seen a woman in RSS?"

Her remarks come amid political debates over Banerjee’s international engagements and the BJP’s stance on women’s representation in leadership roles.
