Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has said that Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel is going to jail. Sarma, who has been campaigning in Chhattisgarh ahead of the state elections, attacked the Chhattisgarh Chief Minsiter once again over the latter's alleged links with the Mahadev betting app case.
Speaking to the media in Raipur amid campaigning, the Assam CM today said that Bhupesh Baghel knows that he is going to jail. He further said that Enforcement Directorate (ED) would be knocking on Baghel's doorsteps after the elections.
"Bhupesh Baghel knows that he is going to jail, he wants to take 10 others along with him...Right now, ED has not even come to him. It will come after the elections...It is ED's large-heartedness that it has given time to Baghel to contest elections...TS Singh Deo is the happiest right now, with whatever is happening," said CM Sarma.
Earlier, Sarma had earlier, during a campaign rally, had stated that Bhupesh Baghel had "looted" 508 crore through the Mahadev betting app. He had hinted that the ED would soon come for him in this regard. Sarma had also stated that Baghel had been the CM for 2.5 years and for the next 2.5 years, Baghel's cabinet colleague TS Singh Deo would be the Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh.
Noteworthy here is that the ED has claimed it has recorded a statement of a 'cash courier' who alleged Mahadev betting app promoters have paid Rs 508 crore to Bhupesh Baghel so far. The Chhattisgarh CM has meanwhile denied these allegations.
