I was in Congress...they sell 20 per cent of tickets to fight election: Himanta Biswa Sarma

Assam Chief Minister and Jharkhand BJP co-in-charge for the assembly elections, Himanta Biswa Sarma, has made a significant statement regarding the Congress party's practices.

Sarma, who was formerly with the Congress, claimed that the party sells 20 per cent of its election tickets and utilizes the proceeds for election purposes.

"...I was in Congress and this is the system in Congress - they sell 20 per cent of tickets and use that money in the election...", said Himanta Biswa Sarma.

In his remarks, Sarma emphasized that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is poised to become even stronger in the near future. He expressed confidence in the NDA's performance in the ongoing elections, indicating that the alliance is contesting effectively.

Earlier on October 24, Himanta Biswa Sarma criticised the Congress party over an alleged incident involving Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge.

The BJP has claimed that Kharge was denied entry while Priyanka Gandhi Vadra was filing her nomination for the Wayanad by-polls.

In his remarks, Sarma stated, "We have shown what is Dalit's position in Congress. Outside, Rahul Gandhi shows that the Congress party supports Dalits and gives them equal participation. But inside, Dalits are insulted. What happened with Mallikarjun Kharge yesterday, after that there is nothing left to tell people. Congress is exposed...Within the party, Dalits are insulted and treated as third-class citizens, and untouchability is practised."

The comments come amid heightened political tensions as various parties prepare for upcoming elections.
