Kiren Rijiju highlights India's efforts for minority welfare, responds to EVM controversy

Union Minister Kiren Rijiju emphasized India's unparalleled commitment to minority welfare during an event at the Dr. Ambedkar International Centre. Speaking on Friday, Rijiju announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Dalit Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (DICCI) and the National Minority Development Finance Corporation (NMDFC).

“This MoU will ensure financial assistance to minority communities, including Dalit and tribal populations,” he stated, adding, “No other country works as much as India does for its minority communities.” The collaboration aims to boost economic empowerment and inclusivity among marginalized groups.

On the issue of the Congress party's remarks regarding electronic voting machines (EVMs), Rijiju dismissed their concerns, stating, “Congress cannot digest their defeat in Maharashtra. They view winning 99 seats in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections as a significant achievement, but it is far from a victory.”
