A visitor reportedly jumped into the Lok Sabha chamber from the gallery, leading to the adjournment of the House on December 13.
Following this Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi alleged that two young men unleashed foul-smelling yellow-coloured gas from canisters inside Parliament gallery.
Meanwhile, MPs rushed to grab the accused while one person was heard raising slogans.
"This raises serious questions on another aspect of the new Parliament building- security," wrote MP Gaurav Gogoi.
Earlier in the day, both Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha proceedings commenced with members paying homage to the victims of the 2001 Parliament attack.
The Rajya Sabha witnessed a fiery question hour where issues of student suicide and period leave were debated.
In the Lok Sabha, Union Minister Nirmala Sitharaman introduced the 'Provisional Collection of Taxes Bill, 2023'.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and several other top political leaders and ministers of the country on Wednesday reached the old Parliament building and paid their tributes to the fallen Jawans on the 22 years of the Parliament Attack.
Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP national president JP Nadda, and Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar also paid their tributes to the fallen Jawans.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also interacted with the family members of the Jawans who sacrificed their lives in the Parliament attack on December 13, 2001.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), PM Modi said, "Today, we remember and pay heartfelt tributes to the brave security personnel martyred in the Parliament attack in 2001. Their courage and sacrifice in the face of danger will forever be etched in our nation's memory."
