As the Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted searches at the residence of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Sanjay Singh and later arrested him, Shiva Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut on October 5 condemned the action and said that this is not just about the AAP now, but about the INDIA Alliance who is speaking against the government.

Speaking to the reporters regarding the case, Sanjay Raut said, "This is not just about the AAP now. It is about the INDIA Alliance who is speaking against the government... Anyone who is speaking against the central government will face the ED, IT and CBI. We have also gone through it...My party and I condemn the way Sanjay Singh was arrested yesterday... I will go to his home today... Today the ED has reached the residence of a DMK MP also, this will go on... If the PM thinks of himself as innocent, why does he not come forward and discuss corruption in the Parliament..."

Condemning the raids conducted by the central agencies, Sanjay Raut on October 4 said that Sanjay Singh is an MP, but was a fearless journalist who never shied away from questionig the government. He was expelled from the Parliament just because he questioned the government, said Sanjay Raut while speaking to ANI.

Citing his own case, Sanjay Raut said that raids have been conducted earlier too and happens in Maharashtra, West Bengal, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand but no raids were conducted in Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Assam and others where they (BJP) are in power.
