'Would rather die...': Shivraj Chouhan bids farewell amid Delhi reference

Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the outgoing Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, expressed his acceptance of the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) decision to replace him with Mohan Yadav for the chief ministerial post. Chouhan, who served at the helm for 18 years, assured his support to the newly appointed Chief Minister.

Chouhan, known for his leadership and accomplishments, conveyed his confidence in Mohan Yadav's ability to continue the state's progress and development. "I am confident that under the leadership of CM Mohan Yadav, the BJP government will complete the ongoing projects in the state. In terms of progress and development, Madhya Pradesh will achieve new heights. I will keep supporting him," Chouhan stated.

Reflecting on his long-standing tenure, Chouhan highlighted the significant progress the state witnessed under his leadership. Dismissing speculations about contesting Lok Sabha elections, he emphasized his commitment to the party's decisions and a larger mission.

Addressing questions about his recent statement on avoiding Delhi, Chouhan clarified, "I would rather die than go and ask for something for myself. That's not my job. That's why I had said that I will not go to Delhi."

Chouhan met emotional women supporters earlier today, some visibly moved to tears. The BJP, which retained power in Madhya Pradesh in the November 17 assembly polls, secured 163 seats in the 230-member assembly, while the Congress finished a distant second with 66.
