Landslide disrupts operations at Sikkim's Teesta-V power station, no casualties reported

A massive landslide has struck the 510 MW Teesta-V Power Station, operated by NHPC, in Balutar, Sikkim. 

 

The power station, located in the vulnerable Teesta basin, has been temporarily shut down following the natural disaster. Fortunately, no human casualties have been reported in the aftermath of the landslide. 

 

As a safety precaution, all units at the Teesta-V Power Station have been taken offline, halting operations until the situation is fully assessed and deemed secure.
