Sikkim BJP pledges Rs 50,000 fix deposit, laptop and scooty for girls in 2024 state election manifesto

To empower girl children in Sikkim, Dr. Dilip Kumar Jaiswal, the Incharge of Sikkim BJP announced a transformative initiative on March 13 to be included in the party's manifesto for the upcoming state assembly elections in 2024.

Under this scheme, the BJP pledges to deposit Rs. 50,000 as a fixed deposit on the day a girl child is born alongside promising scooters and laptops after a girl child completes class 12 examinations to further facilitate their growth and independence.

Dr. Jaiswal stated the importance of this initiative, stating, "We are doing this for the empowerment of women and to ensure that a girl child does not have to depend on others once she completes her 10+2 examinations. A girl will be able to pursue her own studies and carve her own career path."

In addition to the financial support, the BJP aims to provide scooters and laptops to enhance the educational and vocational opportunities for the girl child.

The announcement follows an extensive discussion between Dr Jaiswal, DR Thapa and Narendra Kumar Subba and senior BJP leaders Amit Shah and JP Nadda on the future trajectory of Sikkim. This meeting spanning over two to three hours focused on outlining comprehensive strategies for the state's progress and development.

Dr. Jaiswal assured that a detailed blueprint is being prepared and within the next 2-3 days, the public will be apprised of the BJP's role in the upcoming state assembly elections. Clarity will be provided regarding potential alliances with regional parties or the decision to contest the elections independently.
