Sikkim: Densa Palchen Choling Monastery wraps up annual rituals with prayers for flood victims

The ambiance of Densa Palchen Choling monastery in Ralong, South Sikkim resonated with the powerful vibrations of Vajra Mantra recitation complemented by the Malakala ritual dance and Amitabha empowerment. The annual rituals aimed at spreading messages of love, harmony and tranquility worldwide commenced on the 6th of November and will draw to a close tomorrow on Novmber 13. 

This year, the honorable H.H Goshri Gyaltsab Rimpoche led the rituals infusing the atmosphere with spiritual significance.His Holiness also conducted solidarity prayers for the souls lost in the devastating flash flood on the 4th of November 2023.

Among the attendees were Minister Kunga Nima Lepcha, Minister MN Sherpa, Minister Karma Lodey Bhutia and Area MLA TT Bhutia who joined the prayers and rituals today.

As the rituals reach their pinnacle on November 13, His Holiness Goshri Gyaltsab Rimpoche will preside over the concluding ceremonies. The day will feature a culmination of sacred rituals, including the distribution of Wang among the devotees and followers.

Simultaneously, at Pal Karma Zurmang Shedup Ch'o Khorling, a parallel annual Great Mahakala Puja will be held featuring a ritual dance and Amitabha empowerment conducted by His Eminence Kyabje Zurmang Gharwang Rinpoche.


This special puja at Pal Karma Zurmang Shedup Ch'o Khorling aims to provide solace and support to those who lost their lives in the recent Sikkim floods, wishing for their quick liberation and enlightenment. Additionally, prayers are extended to those injured or affected, hoping for their speedy recovery from suffering and difficulties.
