The annual Eastern Command Anti Tank Guided Missile (ATGM) field firing took place at Teesta Field Firing Range from February 20 to February 28. Over 1500 personnel from various units of Infantry and Mechanised Infantry Battalion participated in this command-level training exercise.
The firing, conducted under the aegis of Trishakti Corps, saw more than 260 missiles fired with the goal of One Missile One Tank. The firing was planned considering the tactical scenarios on the battlefield where tanks play a significant role.
The ATGM detachments fired from various modes, including the newly inducted indigenous Light Strike Vehicle and ground-based detachments. The practice of target engagement by detachments inserted by helicopters was also included.
The GOC of Trishakti Corps, who witnessed the firing, praised the troops for their professional excellence and operational readiness, urging them to master this crucial weapon.
