Sikkim to reward top cooperative societies on Independence Day

The Sikkim government will honour the state's best-performing cooperative societies with cash prizes on Independence Day.

The move aims to promote the cooperative sector of the state.

Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang announced that the first prize winner will receive Rs 10 lakh, the second Rs 7 lakh and the third Rs 5 lakh.

The initiative aims to recognise and encourage cooperative societies that have contributed to economic growth and self-reliance in Sikkim.

"Our government is committed to strengthening the cooperative movement. These awards will serve as motivation for societies to enhance their efficiency and impact," said CM Tamang.
