Tripura: Five arrested at Agartala railway station including illegal immigrants

In a joint operation conducted by the Government Railway Police (GRP), Border Security Force (BSF), and Railway Protection Force (RPF), five individuals were arrested at Agartala Railway Station. 

The group includes two Bangladeshi nationals, one Rohingya male, and two Indian touts.

The arrested individuals are Addus Salam, a Rohingya national, Shathi Molla and Nasim Molla, Bangladeshi nationals, and two Indian touts, Shabir Aarab and Abdul Sakur Fakir Mahamad Khavra, who are from Kachchh, Gujarat.

The Bangladeshi nationals and the Rohingya were found to have entered India illegally. 

A case has been registered at the Agartala GRP police station. The arrested individuals are set to be presented before the court.

On September 25, 2024, the Border Security Force (BSF) apprehended eight Bangladeshi nationals in two separate operations in Tripura.

Six Bangladeshi nationals were apprehended by BSF troops while attempting to enter India illegally. All of them are residents of the Bagerhat district in Bangladesh.

In a separate operation, BSF troops from the Ramendranagar Border Outpost (BOP) detained two Bangladeshi nationals, a couple, while they were trying to cross the border into Bangladesh. The couple is from the Chattogram district of Bangladesh.

The BSF has heightened its vigilance along the Tripura border to prevent infiltration and cross-border crimes, resulting in these recent arrests.
