10 Sports Women from North-East India

Mary Kom MC Mary Kom is the first Indian to win a boxing gold medal at the Asian Games. She has also managed to bag five medals in the Asian Women's Boxing Championship. She is a former Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha.

Anshu Jamsenpa Anshu Jamsenpa is a mountaineer from Bomdila, Arunachal Pradesh. She became the first woman to scale Mount Everest twice within five days. Previously in 2011, she had also achieved the feat of summiting Mt. Everest twice within 10 days.

Anuradha Devi Thokchom She is a hockey player from Manipur. She plays as foward in Indian Women's National Hockey Team. She along with her team made an appearance and performed well at the Rio Olympics 2016.

Chekrovolu Swuro She is an archer from Dimapur in Nagaland. She has represented India at various international sports events. She was the second Naga who got a place in Summer Olympics in 2012. 

Dipa Karmakar Dipa Karmakar, who is from Agartala in Tripura, became popular after the Rio Olympics. She is the first ever Indian woman gymnast to compete in Olympics. She missed the bronze medal in the Olympics by a whishker.

H Lal Ruatfeli She is a hockey player from Mizoram. She was the part of India Women's National Hockey Team in Rio Olympics. She plays as a defender and was also the part of Idnian team at South Asian games 2016. 

Saikhom Mirabai Chanu She is a weightlifter from Imphal, Manipur. Initially, she used to travel 60 km to learn weightlifting in 2007 at the Khuman Lampak Sports Complex in Imphal. She was awarded the title of Best Lifter at the 2013 Junior National Championship in Guwahati India.  

Lovlina Borgohain She is an Indian boxer and she has won a bronze medal at the 2020 Olympic Games in the women's welterweight event. With this, she became only the third Indian boxer to win a medal at the Olympics.

Known as 'Dhing Express', Hima Das is a sprinter from Assam. Currently she hold the national record in 400 meters with a timing of 50.79 s that she clocked at the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta in Indonesia.
