15  years have passed since the gruesome serial blasts on October 30, 2008 in Assam

Black Day

After Mumbai blasts of 1993 and train bombings in the same city in 2006, Assam bombings remain the third bigest attack ever in India.

Bomb blasts

Over 90 people lost their lives and many others injured to nine near-simultaneous explosions in Guwahati, Kokrajhar, Bongaigaon and Barpeta road

The explosions in Guwahati ripped through Pan Bazar, Fancy Bazar and Ganeshguri, which were crowded with shoppers and office goers.

The bombings were orchestrated by the Ranjan Daimary-led faction of NDFB (National Democratic Front of Boroland).

NDFB chief Ranjan Daimary, the mastermind behind the blasts, was sentenced to life in a prison by a CBI court in 2021.
