Strongrooms are specially designated rooms with strong walls and doors where valuable items, particularly electronic voting machines (EVMs) along with VVPATs, are stored securely after voting.
The sealing of strongrooms with double locks is done in the presence of candidates and Election Commission observers, ensuring transparency and security.
Strongrooms are under continuous surveillance through CCTV cameras and guarded round the clock by Central armed police forces, ensuring utmost security.
The Election Commission of India has asserted the fool-proof nature of the process of polling and storage of EVMs in strongrooms during elections, dismissing doubts raised by the opposition regarding manipulation.
District Collectors and Superintendents of Police hold personal responsibility for the security of strongrooms within their districts, ensuring meticulous implementation of security protocols, including three-layer security arrangements.
