Big Cat Species to Watch out for in India

The tiger is an iconic animal of India. They are found across the country and have several national parks dedicated to their preservation where you can spot them.

The Indian leopard ia highly adaptable big cat. They even live in close proximity to humans. Jawai in Rajasthan and Kabini in Karnataka ar eamong the best places to see in them in their wild glory.

The Asiatic Lion, onece widespread in Asia, is now found only in the Gir Forest National Park in Gujarat.

It is found in India's Northeast, particularly in the dense forests of Assam and Arunachal Pradesh among others. 

Clouded Leopard

Though the Indian cheetah has gone extinct, a reintroduction programme has been initiated in collaboration with Namibia. They can now be spotted at Kuno National Park in Madhya Pradesh.

Cheetah

One big cat, often overlooked in India, is the caracal and is found in parts of Rajasthan and Gujarat. They are quite elusive and highly skilled hunters.
