The Brahmaputra, a transboundary river, is known by different names as it changes its course across countries and states. In Assam, it is referred to as Luit.
As it flows through Tibet and China, it is called Yarlung Tsangpo.
Upon reaching Bangladesh, the river is referred to as the Padma River.
In West Bengal, it is known as 'Jamuna' river.
The river enters India through the west of Sadiya town in Arunachal Pradesh, originating from the Kailash ranges of the Himalayas at an elevation of 5300 M.
In Assam, there is also a part of the river referred to as Jia Bharali, known as Kameng River in Arunachal. The river bed becomes wider as it dances along the Tawang road trip
