Legend has it that in the Kamrup district of Assam, a knowlegeable man named "Dak Purusha" was born

1. “Tiri Lota Tiri pota; Tirik nokobi hosa kotha” -It means women love to gossip; they let out a lot of secrets that lead to conflicts at home or elsewhere.

2. "Soku laal, buku khaal, hei purukhor loikhon bhal" - This has to do with what a man ought to be like. The ideal traits of a good man should be a deep voice and serious mannerism

3. "Aapon karjyak ji kore hela, Tahar ghare nai Lakshmir khela" - He who neglects his duty does not have the blessings of the Goddess of Lakshmi in his house

4. "Alap khai pelai prasur, Dake bule taik nikal dur" - A woman who wastes more than she eats should be driven away

5. "Udyogi purush Shinghar saman..Elehua hol kapurushar nissan" - A dynamic/hard-working person equals a lion, and laziness signifies a coward

6. "Baat buliba dekhi, Cowrie laba lekhi" - Look ahead before you go, 'Cowrie, i.e., a small kind of shell used as coin means money,' receives money only after counting it
