USS Samuel B Roberts Known as "The Sammy B," was a World War II United States Navy destroyer escort. Coxswain Samuel Booker Roberts, Jr. inspired the name. The destroyer escort was launched in 1944.

USS Johnston Johnston was named after Lieutenant John V. Johnston, a U.S. Navy officer during the Civil War. The ship was a Fletcher-class destroyer that entered active duty in 1943.

SS Rio Grande The SS Rio Grande was a German blockade runner in World War II. The ship was spotted by two American vessels, the USS Omaha and Jouett, in January 1944. 

USS Indianapolis The USS Indianapolis was named for the capital city of Indiana. The Portland-class heavy cruiser was launched in 1931. The U.S. ship was critical for the Allied efforts in World War II.

USS America While the ship’s final location was never a mystery, it was a closely guarded government secret until a Freedom of Information Act request in 2006.
