Arunachali Weddings One ritual that remains similar in most of the tribes of Arunachal Pradesh is paying the 'Bride Price'. Nope, it is the other way round, as it is the groom who pays a hefty bride price where the family of the groom provide's the bride's family with a Mithun (cattle), fabric and cookware, all for accepting the bride into the groom's family

Nagaland Weddings Particularly in the Ao tribe of Nagaland, when the groom decides to get engaged to a girl of his choice, an Ao groom usually offers fish to the bride's parents. They also sacrifice fowls in most phases of the wedding

Manipuri Weddings A special ceremony called the leilenga is held on the wedding place where the bride makes the wedding garlands for herself and her partner. She is also asked to pray for a peaceful and joyful marriage during this ceremony

Meghalaya Weddings Basically in the Khasi community, it is the men who leave their home and goes to live with his wife after marriage as Meghalaya follows a matrilineal form of system.

Assamese Weddings One peculiar and unique ceremony observed in the Ahom community of Assam is the Chaklong. A combination of 101 lamps are lit in a circular manner with the bride picking up the Hengdang (sword) kept on a platter and offers it to her husband, addressing him to subdue his enemies, look after the family and do well for the welfare of the country

Meghalaya Weddings (Garo tribe) Among the Garos of Meghalaya, once a girl chooses who she'd lile to marry, the boy is abducted and confined to a separate home with his bride-to-be. The custom dictates that the groom should feign unwillingness to get married and run away twice, only to be recaptured. 

Assamese Weddings (Karbis) Weddings in Karbi community are grand and are mostly passed down ages having mythological origins. In one such ceremony, after the bride leaves her maternal home with her groom, they take a short rest near a river where both the bride and groom share the food sent from the bride's house. This is known as Angdeng Kecho

Mizoram Weddings In a typical Mizo wedding, brides give a Puandum to the groom, a type of rug which is used to wrap the groom at the time of his burial.
