Swatantra Party

Established in 1948.Promoted socialist ideals and played a key role in the freedom movement.Fragmented in the 1950s due to ideological differences, leading to its decline.

Socialist Party

Formed in 1951 as a right-wing political party.Merged into the Janata Party in 1977, which later became part of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in 1980.

Bharatiya Jana Sangh

Emerged in 1999 as a faction of the Janata Dal.Lost prominence over the years and is no longer a major political force in Indian politics.

Janata Dal (Secular)

A splinter group from the Janata Dal.Faded away in the late 1990s due to internal conflicts and lack of electoral success.

Samajwadi Janata Party (Rashtriya)

Formed by Kanshi Ram in 1984.After Kanshi Ram's demise in 2006, the party underwent changes and is now part of the larger Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) led by Mayawati.
