Loktak Lairembee (2016) Directed by Haobam Paban Kumar, this film is based on the controversial Loktak lake Phumdi, a floating biomass clearance operation undertaken by the Manipur Government in 2011 which has resulted in the displacement of several indigenous folks from the fishing community whose lives are solely dependent on the lake 

Halodhia Choraye Baodhan Khai (1987) It is an Assamese feature film directed by noted filmmaker Jahnu Barua. The film received several awards and recognitions including National Award for Best Film, Indian Panaroma, Silver leopard (Locarno), Best Actor for Indra Bania (Locarno). 

Nana: A Tale of Us (2017) This is an award-winning Naga film by Tiakumzuk, and also the first-ever film from Nagaland to make it to an International Film Festival. This film highlights the need for fair elections in the state and how Nana and his family witness the different strata of human relationships

Daughters of The Polo God (2018) Directed by Roopa Barua, this Manipuri documentary traverses the issue of women empowerment and saving an endangered breed of pony. This film also draws attention towards women empowement in the sport of polo at the same time.

Water Burial (2019) This film based on the Monpa dialect of Arunachal Pradesh is inspired by the popular Assamese novel Saba Kota Manuh, written by Yeshe Dorjee Thongchi. This film revolves around a funeral ritual of a local tribe in Arunachal Pradesh

Phijigi Mani (2011) Directed by O Gautam, this film is 2011 Meitei language film that won the 59th National Film Awards. This film revolves around insurgency, of hardships of youth embroiled in the socio-political turmoil hitting Manipur

Khawnglung Run (2012) Directed by Mapuia Chawngthu, Khawnglung Run is a 2012-Mizo language film based on the Khawnglung massacre of 1856-1859, which is considered the bloodiest massacres in the history of Mizoram till date
