A fierce gun battle took place in Manipur's border town Moreh between security forces and armed militants on December 31.

The peaceful atmosphere of Moreh, located on Manipur's border, was disrupted by an escalating confrontation between Manipur Police and suspected Kuki militants, which escalated from daytime ambushes to a midnight RPG

Ambush

This clash resulted in four police commandos being injured, adding to an earlier incident where a personnel sustained a splinter injury on his legs during a daytime assault

Guns and Fire

This extended gunfire exchange continued through the night, causing disturbances in the area. The attackers specifically targeted the barracks housing the special police commandos, leading to four officers being injured while they were resting.

Bloodshed 

The attack also caused significant structural damage to the barracks. The ongoing confrontations have raised concerns for the safety of Moreh residents.
