Most active volcanoes around the world

Stromboli, located on a small island north of Sicily, is one of the most active volcanoes in the world with regular explosions and glowing lava flows.

Mt Etna on Sicily, is Europe's largest and most active volcano. The frequent eruptions also include large lava flows, but rarely pose a danger to inhabited areas.

Fagradalsfjall mountain erupted in March 2021 which was the first ever for the area following a strong seismic crisis.

Erta Ale is famous for its continous lava lake which has been active during most of the past decades since it was first discovered in the 1960s.

Erebus is among the most inhospitable and remote location of any active volcano in the world. It is famous for its active boiling lava lake.

This volcano is one of the largest in the area and the one that has had the most violent eruptions.

Shiveluch - Russia

Watch out for possible eruptions in Japan including the Ryuku Islands with Kuchinoerabu-jima, Suwanose-jima, Kikai, Kusatsu-Shirane, Asama on Honshu, and Nishino-shima on Volcano Islands.
