Parshuram Kund  Where Lord washed away his sins

Within the boundaries of the Kamlang Reserve Forest is Parshuram Kund. This location along the Lohit River has a long-standing mythological connection to the story of the Hindu sage Parshuram.

Mythology

Sage Parshuram purportedly atoned for his matricide sin in the waters of the Lohit river at Bramhakund, according to legend.

In addition to a shrine for Devi Renuka, the temple is dedicated to Lord Parshuram. Lord Parshuram is the sixth incarnation of Sri Maha Vishnu, and there is a dashavtar temple dedicated to him that houses all ten of his different forms

On the day of Makar Sankranti every year, thousands of pilgrims from all over the nation gather to atone for their transgressions.

Every year on the occasion of Paush Sankranti, a Parshuram Mela is held nearby. Numerous saints and devotees from all over the country visit the Kund.
