She became the first pilot of Assam at the age of 21, in 1961

Her training started at the Gauhati airport at Borjhar where the flight officer from Delhi trained her

Her first solo flight was from Borjhar to Tezpur in the year 1961

She worked really hard for her commercial pilot license but just when she was about to get it, she got married and settled down in London
