According to local folklore, a historic battle ensued between Lord Ganesha and Sage Parashurama on Dholkal Hill. The clash was intense, with Parashurama wielding his farsa or axe against Ganesha.

Legend

This encounter is believed to have inspired the name of the village situated at the foot of the hill, Farsapal. The outcome of the battle between the two figures remains an enigma to this day.

Folklore

In memory of the battle between Parashurama and Ganesha, the kings of Chindak Nagvanshi dynasty set a stone idol of Lord Ganesha at the hilltop in the 11th century.
