Tiramisu in 7 Simple Steps

Brew a cup of strong coffee or espresso and let it cool. Add 2 tablespoons of rum or coffee liqueur (optional) to enhance the flavour.

Prepare coffee mixture

In a large bowl, combine 500g  (about 2 cups) of mascarpone  cheese with 3/4 cup of powdered sugar. Mix until smooth.

Mix mascarpone

In a separate bowl, whip 1 cup of heavy cream with 2 tablespoons of sugar until stiff peaks form.

Whip cream

Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until smooth and well combined.

Combine mascarpone and whipped cream

Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the cooled coffee mixture (do not soak them) and layer them at the bottom of your serving dish.

Dip ladyfingers

Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers, then add another layer of dipped ladyfingers. Top with the remaining mascarpone mixture.

Layer tiramisu

Refrigerate the tiramisu for at least 4 hours or overnight. Before serving, dust with cocoa powder and, if desired, add chocolate shavings for garnish. Enjoy!
