Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Mahua Moitra was expelled from Lok Sabha on December 8 in the 'cash-for-query' case.
Directed by Theodore Melfi, this film tells the true story of three African-American women mathematicians who played crucial roles at NASA during the early years of the U.S. space program.
The expulsion was supported by a motion passed through a voice vote in the Lok Sabha.
The motion for expulsion was presented by the Parliamentary Affairs Minister in Lok Sabha.
Earlier in the day, Lok Sabha held a brief discussion on the recommendation of the Ethics Committee report regarding Mahua Moitra's case.
The Ethics Committee's report, recommending Moitra's expulsion, was introduced in Lok Sabha on December 8.
The report was based on a "cash-for-query" case involving Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra.
During the debate, Congress MP Manish Tewari, TMC MP Kalyan Banerjee, Sudip Bandyopadhyay, and JDU MP Giridhari Yadav opposed the committee's recommendation.
On the contrary, BJP MP Dr. Heena V Gavit and Aparajita Sarangi supported the recommendation of the Ethics Committee.
The expulsion follows a disciplinary action arising from the Ethics Committee's findings.
Mahua Moitra expressed defiance, stating, "I will fight you for the next 30 years inside Parliament, outside Parliament," after her expulsion from Lok Sabha.
